Prepare for the weekend

AlbaVision
We'd like to remind you on this blog's comeback this weekend, after a phase of calm blogging, due to private matters and a lack of news. With the new Song and Video of Aurela Gaçe (on 13th March!), we will signal our return with a completely new designed banner in much higher resolution, which will surprise you. We will introduce you to new family members of the AlbaVision team, who start posting news, lyrics etc. with us.
Join us on our way to Düsseldorf and don't miss to visit us for the relaunch this weekend.

Meanwhile, you can vote in the new and last poll round of this kind, where we ask you about your opinion on the current version of "Kënga ime" and whether you prefer other songs from ESC'11 to it.

In the last pollround, 2/3 of all voters gave "Kënga ime" a set of 12 points. The other 1/3 gave ratings of 3,5,7 & 10 points.
From songs of other countries our voters mostly prefered Italy, Germany and Norway to the Albanian song. Also Switzerland and Poland had many supporters. Yet the number of people stating that none country's song beats the Albanian song, was the highest.

Video shoot starts tomorrow.

Albania: Aurela stated to be starting with the videoshoot tomorrow. There were no more info about it, yet we could think of Entermedia being the video production company. They are responsible for many high standart and quality Albanian music videos (for example the latest video of Besa Kokëdhima, see article below)
To the question whether she would be a guest at the Skopje Fest this year (like Juliana was last year presenting the new song version), she replied that this is by invitation from the RTSH and therefore not decided yet.

To our polls: We have been asking last month for you opinion about the Albanian representative in Düsseldorf. You could rate the song "Kënga ime" with 1 to 12 points. Most voters did give her the full set of points, which signals a general satisfaction with the Albanian song (on Albanian side at least).
Also compared to other chosen songs, noone said to be liking some other selected song (only Romania and Switzerland had selected until that date) more than the Albanian one.

Now many more countires have chosen its representatives, so we'd like to start a new round, same questions. The lines are opened ;)

AVs poll results!

AlbaVision has been running some polls concerning this years Festivali i Këngës. It's now time to take a look at what our readers answered:

Let's start with the most recent poll, which you can see at the left. What was your favourite song in the festivali i këngës 2010? Our readers favourite was by a clear margine (29%) Alban & Miriam's Ende ka shpresë, followed by the winner Kënga ime (19%). In an earlier poll, Whose artist's songs/performances are you awaiting the most?, Alban & Miriam got 47% of the votes, while Aurela Gaçe got 46%. This might indicate that some people were disappointed with the winner. Besa Kokëdhima got the third place in both polls, indicating that she lived up to the expectations by AVs readers. Dorina Garuci and Enkelejda entries also seems to have been as the readers expected. The only song that didn't live up to the expectations according to the polls, was Kamela Islami's Jetova për të dy. AVs readers also looked forward to hearing Kejsi Tola and Marjeta Billo, who didn't reach the final.

AlbaVisions readers were asked a while ago whether a female, male or duo/group would win FiK 2010. The voters were in this poll correct: 52% guessing a female to win, followed by 39% predicting a duo or group. Only 5% thought a male would be the lucky one. These results correlates very well with the actual results.

Finally: What do you think about Linda's statement? Has the prize already been promised to Alban and Miriam before the start of the festival? Most of the AVs readers did not believe in the rumours, and the rumour turned out not being right. Alban Skënderaj also hinted to this when receiving the second place in the festival. 46% of the voters answered They'll win, if they deserve to.

AlbaVision would like to thank all of you who have shared your opinion in our polls!

A female wins FiK once again?

Total number of votes: 51
At least, that is what our visitors predict. 27 of 51 voters in our prediction poll for the Festival i këngës 2010 said that this year we'll have another female winning the Albanian National Final. That makes out 52% of all votes. The precentage was even higher when the poll just started.

But with the announcement of the participants of this years FiK, more and more people voted that a duet/band will win the trophy this time. That probably can also be connected to Linda Halimi's announcement that the prize is already decided to be given to the duet Alban Skenderaj and Miriam Cani before the show has festival has kicked off. In the end 39% od the voters believe in a gorup/duet win for Christmas.
Only 3 voters belive in a masculine win and 1 person admitted to have absolutely no guess.

As we know the names of participants now, we will start some new polls now. Hang on.

The Albavision Summerhit 2010!

The polls have been closed and the we have the first winner of the Albavision Summerhit competition, in which only former Albanian National Final Stars with a Summerhit are allowed to be part of.
This year we started with a simple Duel between two enormous hits of Albania:

On the one side Elvana Gjata with "A ke ti zemer" and on the other Aurela Gaçe, Dr. Flori and Marsel with "Origjinale".

Starting off as a neck-and-neck race, the team around Aurela could gain the upper hand after more votes arrived. In the end Aurela Gaçe won the competition, being voted most by our participating visitors with 2/3 % of the votes.
Therfore Aurela Gaçe are the firsts to win the web Award and title "Albavision Summerhit". Congrats and thank you to all voters.
The video of Origjinale is being played on the banner for one week as a prize.

Albavision Summerhit competition 2010

Not much time and the summer season 2010 is over. In Albania and Kosovo we have had a couple of new songs, trying to be a summerhit; some more, some less successful.
From these songs two particular come from former "Festivali i Këngës" stars. Those two songs are now duelling for the title of the "2010 Albavision Summerhit", which can only be awarded to artists which are related to the Albanian National final for the Eurovision Songcontest.

We present you the two songs and in the next 4 weeks you get the time to vote for the song you liked more in the poll on the right.

And here are our two nominees:

Summerhit 1: Elvana Gjata - A ke ti zemer

Elvana Gjata has participated in the Festivali i Këngës 2003 with the song "Pranë teje", the edition Anjeza Shahini won. She failed passing the semifinal though. Nevertheless it was a begin of a very successful career, being nowadays one of the most known and popular Albanian Pop and RnB singers. This summer her song "A ke ti zemer" (Do you have [a] heart) was another huge hit and therefore rightly in our duell for our title 'Summerhit 2010'

Competitor No.1: Elvana Gjata - A ke ti zemer

Summerhit 2: Aurela Gaçe ft Dr.Flori & Marsel - Origjinale

Here we have the competition for Elvana, the team around Aurela Gaçe, who is an Albanian Icon and the winner of the "Festivali i Këngës 1999 & 2001". 36 years young Aurela has landed an outstanding hit this year, with "Origjinale" and Dr.Flori, who compsed the song and Marsel, who was not formely known in the music scene before. The song can be heard out of every second car in the streets and a strong contestant for the title. Whether it's the song or the voice or Marsel that made the song become that popular is wildly discussed by fans of the song. Make up your own mind.

Competitor No2: Aurela Gaçe ft Dr.Flori & Marsel - Origjinale

You can vote now in the poll on the right side an tell us which one's your favourite. Additionally, the comment section below is there for any other reaction you'd like to share :D

Poll analysis summer 2010

Our 3 polls on the right side are closed now and with 21 voters taking part in question one, the polls weren't as lively discussed as the ones before the Eurovision Songcontest, which is normal due to post-ESC-season and our own summerbreak.
Anyway, here is the outcome of the polls which may be repeated again in the beginning of next year:

Our first question was "What was your favourite Albanian ESC song?"
Albanias first representative and the most succesful Albanian entry to date, "The image of you" by Anjeza Shahini, is still one of the most popular Albanian songs in many international polls. Surprisingly only 1 of 21 voters said this song was his favourite. Another person said "Zjarr e ftohte" of 2006 by Luiz Ejlli was his favourite, leaving these two songs with each 4% of all votes on place 4 of the ranking. Only the 2007 entry "Hear my plea" had less votes and therefore zero. With each 9% of all votes "Tomorrow I go" and "Carry me in your dreams" share place 3.
Albavision-Queen 2010
With 5 votes (23%) "Zemren e lame peng" by Olta Boka is the 2nd most favourited Albanian ESC song by the Albavision visitors.
The golden medal goes to wonderful Juliana Pasha and "It's all about you" with almost 50% of the votes! The song still seems to have a massive effect on our visitors. If Juliana can keep the position #1 next year when another artist is the most recent Albanian represantive, we'll find out in 2011. Congrats to Juliana for now!

Complete Albavision popularity ranking 2010:

1) Juliana Pasha - It's all about you - 2010
2) Olta Boka - Zemren e lame peng - 2008
3) Ledina Celo - Tomorrow I go - 2005
Kejsi Tola - Carry me in your dreams - 2009
4) Anjeza Shahini - The image of you - 2004
    Luiz Ejlli - Zjarr e ftohte - 2006
5) Frederik Ndoci - Hear my plea - 2007

The other two questions had to less responds to do a real analysis at this point. But as said, in the actual ESC-Season we will post these questions again :D

Albavision poll analysis.

From 2nd of April to the first semifinal of the ESC 2010 in Oslo, we asked our visitors to take part in our polls on the right of the page and first of all: to get an overall of 120 responses in 3 polls in such a short time is quite amazing for us, as the page was totally new in web two months ago.

Our first question was: What do you think of "It's all about you"?

87% of the 47 voters in this poll answered with "It's awesome", which shouldn't be a surprise though as this page is probably mainly found and visited by either Albanians or people who love the Albanian entry 2010 in first place. Nevertheless, we can see people on this page were mainly satisfied with the Albanian selection for 2010. :D Only 4 people voted for "It' good" and two for "It's ok"/"It's bad".

And also most of the voters agreed when it came to the next question: "Where do you predict Albania to end up this year?"

Taking into account, that it's up to televoters AND juries to decide on the winner at ESC, 88% of the 43 voters said Albania will rank a "Top 10" and guessed wrong consequently, me being one of them to be honest. Only 5 people bet a position between "11th and 25th in the final" and guessed right as Albania ended up at place 16. None of the voters thought Albania would stuck in the semifinal, which did not happen either.:D

In the last question ("Will Albania benefit from the juries this year?") voters didn't agree as much as in the first two polls though.
Albania would have had achieved a 12th place if it was for Juries to decide 100% on the winner and a 17th place if only televoting had been taken into account on the final night. Therefore 60% of our voters guessed right by clicking option "Yes, they [Albania] will profit very much". The other 40% guessed wrong thinking Albania would either be voted same by televoters and juries or lose positions thanks to the juries.

THANK YOU to all voters
Have a say in the comments if you have ideas why Albania may have ended up worse than predicted by us, or if some fact struck you etc... :D
