Alban Skenderaj and Miriam Cani, Albanias William and Kate, who finished second in the Fesitvali i këngës in December after Aurela Gaçe with "Ende ka shpresë", presented the English version of the song to the public. Months after announcing to be releasing an English version of the song, they performed the song finally in the version that likely would have been the ESC version if they had won. So you can compare the video below to our representative in Düsseldorf and make up your own mind to the better English version.
Personally, at least Miriam sounds better in the English version, while I liked the Alban part more in the original song. THe backdrop in this video is the one from the Festivali i këngës, which is still very impressive.
The video of the runner up in the last edition of Festivali i Këngës has been released. The duet Ende ka shpresë was sung by Alban Skënderaj and Miriam Cani. You can take a look at the full results here. Watch the video below!
Yesterday AlbaVision brought you the first snippets of the English lyrics. We'll keep following Aurela Gaçe's on her way to Düsseldorf; so remember to tune in March 12th when the English version will be released!
We promised you a while ago to bring you the video clip of Besa Kokëdhima's song Kalorësi i natës when it got released. And the video just got released, on Valentine's day. So here it is:
Before revamping "Kënga ime", Aurela Gaçe is going to release a new song and video called "CA$H". The song was recorded with Mc Kresha, the duet partner and rapper of the song. A first glimps on the official Video Trailer makes you aware of the process Albania has gone through in the last years. The video seems to be in TRON - Legacy style, yet it is not known whether this song is the official Albanian song for this Disney Blockbuster. In some weeks time the Videoclip to CA$H will be released, until then you can watch and listen to the promotion below.
The new level of quality videos can also be seen in the new videoclip of Besa Kokëdhima. One year after her withdrawal from the Festivali i këngës 2009, in which Juliana Pasha won, Besa comes out with the videoclip for that withdrawn song "Kalorësi i natës". The video trailer to the song that could have potentionally represented Albania in 2010 in Oslo, can be viewed below. For me it looks very orientalic, as if from the movie "300".
Undeniably, Albanian videoclips have reached a new level of standart. Full videoclips will be posted when they get released.
Françesk Radi, who returns to Festivali i Këngës as a singer after 7 years, has in an interview with Shekulli revealed that the title of his song will be Jetës i këndova (I sang it to life), and not Kemi dasem`o (We have a wedding'oh). The song is about a Romani wedding; the lyrics are written by Agim Doçi, while Françesk has written the melody himself.
The Albanian representative from 2008, Olta Boka, is known for her ballads. According to Blutooth, the young artist will take a break from the genre to show that she can do other genres as well.
Juliana Pasha appeared at E diela shqiptare last Sunday together with Pirro Çako. Below you can listen to them singing Për një çast më ndali zemra, which Pirro Çako and Rovena Dilo won Kënga Magjike with in 2001. You can also listen to the latest released song by Juliana below.
Once again, a duet got the victory in Kënga Magjike, and this year it went to the earlier Albanian ESC representants Juliana Pasha and Luiz Ejlli with Sa e shite zemrën. The prize was given by the artists themselves. The second place went to Pirro Çako with the song Mirëmbrëma, si je?, only two points behind the winner. Ironicly, the winning song was also written by Pirro Çako.
Juliana and Luiz also got the Critic's Prize, while the third earlier ESC participant for Albania Olta Boka recieved the prize for Best Ballad for the song Mbete një breng. She finished at 8th place, with 384 points.
Top 5: 1. Juliana Pasha & Luiz Ejlli - Sa e shite zemrën - 697 2. Pirro Çako - Mirëmbrëma, si je? - 695 3. Rozana Radi & Ramadan Krasniqi - Valsi i tradhtisë - 570 4. Greta Koçi - Koha s'ndalet - 508 5. Eranda Libohova - Rroftë dashuria - 499
Linda Halimi was supposed to take part in the second semi final together with Nora Istrefi, but the entry "All mine" got disqualified by Ardit Gjebrea. This after breaking the contract by not comming back in time to Tirana for a Kënga Magjike rehearsal, after a job in Kosovo. What's more: Linda Halimi and Nora Istrefi have been suspended from the competition for the next six years!

"Could imagine representing Macedonia at Eurovision ... in Albanian"
Agim Poshka
Agim Poshka should be a familiar name to fans and followers of the Festivali i këngës. For more than a decade he has to do with the festival now, sometimes as composer, other times as songwriter and at times as participant himself, for example in 2007 with the song "Kujt i them të dua?". In last years Festivali i kënges #48, he took part as a composer with the song "Gëzuar", interpreted by Guximtar Rushani. In the duet night it was Agim, who sang with him. Surprisingly, his name is nowhere in the line up for FiK 2010. As our following interview took place before the announcement of the participants, we had no possibility to ask about the reasons.
We are very glad to have had a talk to Agim Poshka about topics conserning the Eurovision, the Festivali i këngës and personal questions. Read the full interview tranlated from Albanian into English below. (by Arben Bacaj)
Hello Agim, can you tell us, when was your first participation at the festivali i këngës and what makes it so different to other festivals to you?
My first participation was in the Nota Fest of 1999. From then on since 2000, in Tvsh.
Maybe I felt a much greater emotion on my first attempt, yet I feel the same tension after 10 years, because that is the handycap and at the same time advantage of every festival that is live.
You have already participated in the Festivali I kënges as a singer and as a composer, which seems more interesting to you?
I think both create a proper own feeling. But your emotions on stage are doubled if you are singer and composer at the same time, because not only your creation is judged, but also your interpretation. To compose music is something unimaginable and in case that a song turns out to be really good and you recognize that it fills people with happiness, the happiness that I or any other composer feels then is indescribable.
Would you like to represent us one day on the Erupean stage?
Of course I'd love to represent my country at the Eurovision Song Contest. But it would also be my pleasure to represent Macedonia with a song in Albanian language, because that would also reflect the violated Albanian identity in Macedonia. Meanwhile the Netherlands is represented with songs in the language of small and rare, local languages and there is not any problem with that. Switzerland got represented by Celine Dion, who was Canadian back then. Now why can't I, as a resident in the Macedonian Territory, take part for them at ESC? The organizators for the Macedonian National Final suffer from their xenophobia, because it is absurd to take part in an multi-ethnic festival and keep the own National Final mono-ethnic for people with Macedonian origin only in Macedonian language.
Edmond Zhulali said in an interview to Shekulli, that a CD of the festivali I këngës will be released after the 3 nights. Last year such a CD did not exist, when Guximtar Rushani took part with a song you composed. Is there a studio version of that song “Gëzuar”?
Yes, somewhere around November the videoclip to “Gëzuar” which is currently in the editing phase is going to be released. It is a song I have composed with much love and the songwriter Olsa Poshka captured that feeling and converted it into lyrics. The song was received very well, also in the Festival and that was the greatest gift that I could have gotten for that end of year.
(See the duet performence at FiK 2009 on the right)
If the unknown Arben from the Diaspora asks you to create him a song for the next festivali i këngës, what would you reply?
I would tell him to come along with an idea first. Then I'd challenge him to see his singing skills. But I don't respond to it, I'd just demand him to sing any song to find out about his vocal affinities. This way I see if there is really an artistic world inside the person. That is a procedure that all composers practice.
At last something you want tell your fans on AlbaVision.tk (other musical plans for the future)?
Feel like doing a rebellion?
These days my new video clip for the song “Dita ime do te vije - feat. Kastro Zizo” (Eng.: My day will come) has been released. It's a rock song that expresses that rage of the youth against the injustices, that happen in this world and the lenghty transition, which our politcans are not able to turn into values. This rebellion would have no sense without the energy of Kastro Zizo who worked very well on the song and gave it a fantastic rhythm and I'd like to thank him in public for that. Personally, I had my musical commencements with a guitar. I've always loved rock music and this was a very good possibility to make some social or antisocial project, in which everyone could identify himself in the one or the other moment. I suggest to all readers who want a little taste of rebellion to watch the video clip.
Success AlbaVision and thank you very much for the interview :D

Stay tuned at AlbaVision to get the results of this edition!
This week has been a week with a lot of little news which alone would have not reached out for a single article, so we have a little compilation of news this time.
Ilira Gashi
First there is Ilira Gashi, who is competing in the Swiss National Final together with "the Colours" and the song "Home". She belongs to the first qualifiers out of the first Web-preselection phase and is therefore part of the National Final on 11th December, when the representative for Switzerland at the ESC 2011 is to be found.
To reach that very same National Final is also the aim of the Kosovo-Albanian Superstar Genta Ismajli, who still has to hope to get enough votes to reach the Final with the song "This is my night".
Genta: ESC for every prize?
There is nothing she and her managment leave out to reach that aim, tons of publicity on her facebook page and interviews with Eurovsion related sites likes Esctoday. If in the end the Swiss people vote & support her also that massively as her own fans, is questionable. We stay tuned.
Back to Albania. Dorina Garuci, who exclusively confirmed her participation at the Fesivali i këngës to Albavision weeks ago, has now given away the title of the song with which she will perform in the National Final for Albania. The song is called "Ti", which simply means You in English.
"Do jetë një tokë një qytet, një qiell i ri"
At last, we can report from the "Kënga magjike 2010". The first heats are over now and the winners of each heat divided into the Semifinals. Juliana Pasha and Luiz Ejlli, who are competing together with a duet of Pirro Çako (Lyricist of Nuk mundem pa ty) will start in Semi two. More about the Kënga Magjike later.
But that is not every news of Juliana. Last week she was part of the Albanian show "Me and you", where two stars who are well befriended have a complete show for themselves to host, sing their best hits and talk to and about each other. In the last edition Juliana running the series, together with Sidrit Bejleri. In the show she sang also her hits like the wonderful "Një qjell i ri" (A new heaven), with that she got 3rd place in the FiK 2007 and "It's all about you" (ESC '10) played of a live band, sung half in Albanian half in English, I can advise to listen to both. you can watch the show again HERE.
The question of a debut of Kosovo at the ESC is a highly debatted topic ever since Kosovo's independency in 2008.
Regarding 2011 as the debut year, we found this article from koha.net:
The decision about a possible return of the music festival "Akordet e Kosovës" will not be made this year, even though the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sports promised a decision already for 2010.
The "Akordet e Kosovës" has been on hiatus for over 15 years now and since the independency of Kosovo a revival of the format was planned for Eurovision purposes, as the new 'AeK' should have been the National Final of Kosovo for the Eurovision Songcontest.
Now, the official reason for postponing the comeback of the Festival is that he channel has not enough budget this year.
Former minister Valton Beqiri sees another reason in the postponement of the festival.
He stated that an organization of that festival shouldn't be influenced by the status of Kosovo at the EBU and the pressure of entering Eurovision as soon as possible. "We don't have to wait for Kosovo to have a full membership at the EBU. It's better to start off now and by the time we enter the ESC, we are ready and have a professionally organized National Final."
Teuta Kurti
Also Teuta Kurti, regular participant at the Festivali i këngës, the National Final for Albania, spoke out for a revival of the "Akordet": " We don't have to wait for the ESC. What we need is a festival with 'live' acts competing (in Kosovo) amongst each other and on the day we gain the membership for the EBU, we already have the preselection and chosen song."
She added that she would take part herself in the "Akordet" if it was about to take place again.
A debut of Kosovo at ESC is doubtable once again, as the RTK seems more to wait than acting for a membership of the channel at the EBU, unfortunately.
Two weeks ago, we reported about the 'Zhurma Show' Awards, the Video-Music-Awards of Kosovo (See previous article here). Many Stars of the Albanian National Final were nominated in the over 20 different categories. It appears that some of them go home as winners as the Show has been held yesterday.
Aurela Gaçe who was nominated in many categories, wins only one reward, which nevertheless is none other the the "BEST SONG" Award.

News seem to be rare at the moment, but we still found some rather little ones of FiK stars :)
And of course we have some BIG NEWS coming very soon from our side.
The first news is from Teuta Kurti who took part several times in the Festivali i këngës these past years, unfortunately not too successful, though participating with wonderful songs. To the magazine SH2 she told that she is very soon going to be married. It will be a rather small, traditional wedding and kept intime with family and close friends only, so she said. The wedding should take place at the end of this year or beginning of the next.
Teuta Kurti & Flaka Krelani
And then we have Flaka Krelani, who spoke with Telegrafi.com about her found passion: Rock. "Rock is the adrenaline of the music. It fulfills me". She also always seems to end up wearing black in recent time, which has become her favourite colour and in which she feels just more comfortable. Her performance in FiK last year was quite rocky, will we see her back more extreme this time?
Flaka Krelani - Le të bëhet çfarë të doje (FiK '09)

The polls have been closed and the we have the first winner of the Albavision Summerhit competition, in which only former Albanian National Final Stars with a Summerhit are allowed to be part of.
This year we started with a simple Duel between two enormous hits of Albania:
On the one side Elvana Gjata with "A ke ti zemer" and on the other Aurela Gaçe, Dr. Flori and Marsel with "Origjinale".
Starting off as a neck-and-neck race, the team around Aurela could gain the upper hand after more votes arrived. In the end Aurela Gaçe won the competition, being voted most by our participating visitors with 2/3 % of the votes.
Therfore Aurela Gaçe are the firsts to win the web Award and title "Albavision Summerhit". Congrats and thank you to all voters. The video of Origjinale is being played on the banner for one week as a prize.
In these weeks there have been more news about Albanian National final stars, which would not have had enough content to fill a whole article alone, therefore they are summed up in this little sort of 'Newsflash'.
Helena Paparizou:
The Greek winner of the ESC 2005 is coming to the Qemal Stafa Stadium in Albania on Saturday. In Tirana she will hold a concert alongside other famous Musicians from Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo. The entrance costs a bit more than 3 €, which makes more than clear that sponsors pay this concert mostly. In this case mostly Greek companies in Albania.
Besa Kokëdhima:
Many news from the FiK contestant in for ESC '09. She is going to be part of the Helena Paparizou concert in Tirana on Saturday, singing 3 songs of her repertoire. One of the songs she will present though is going to be the most recently released "Nuk jam ajo" (I'm not her), a duet with Jehona Sopi (Video on the right).
We have managed to contact Besa Kokëdhima and ask her about a studio version of her '09 FiK song "Ajër", after two visitors asked us to do so. She replied that actually there does not exist a studio version of "Ajër" but that she finds it a good idea to produce one and will do so. A little achievement from our side (yay).
Aida Ndoci Dyrrah:
Aida, Albanian representative in 2007 and Ex-wife of Frederik Ndoci has also released a new solo song with video. The song is called "Ah, ah... Ti" and a has some certain orientalic touch. Enjoy the video on the left.
Olta Boka:
And last but not least, as promised we finally found and upload a Studio Version of "Tak Tak ja bën tek porta" by Olta and his dad exclusevily for you here.
The list of the 56 participants that will take part in Kënga Magjike 2010 was released today, and it contains many well known names for Eurovision fans. As previously reported on Albavision.tk, Juliana Pasha will take part in the competition again, and she will do that together with Luiz Ejlli. They also participated together in Festivali i Këngës in 2008, where they came second with the song "Një jetë". Juliana and Luiz represented Albania in ESC respectively in 2010 and 2006. Another known Eurovision star who is taking part, is Olta Boka. The Albanian representative from 2008 also took part in the last edition of Kënga Magjike, where she finished ninth with the song "Jepu me zemër". We will also see Adrian Gaxha, who also took part in ESC in 2008, for FYR Macedonia.
Among the other former Festivali i Këngës participants, we find Pirro Çako, Linda Halimi, Era Rusi, Burn, Teuta Kurti, Greta Koçi, Vesa Luma and Voltan Prodani. You can take a look at the whole list HERE!
Kënga Magjike will be held at the dates 17th, 18th and 19th November
Last year a new format of the Festival i kenges was presented, introducing a "Beginner-night" for 20 unknown Albanian artists/composers to take part in the FiK, in which only 2 of the 20 would be added to the final line up with the 'big' stars. One of these two newcomers was Iris Hoxha with the song "Zërin tim ta ndjesh" (Eng: Hear my voice).
Now the webpage "Eurovisionary" says in an article she told them in an interview she is eager to participate in this year's Albanian NF again and will submit a song until the deadline of submissions in mid-Octobre. Also, she states her deep wish to have the chance to represent Albania in the ESC one day.
Whether Iris gets the permission to have her 2nd appearence on the FiK stage in Decembre, is to be decided by directors of the FiK who choose the 20 competing songs?
In a previous article we informed about the participation of Besa Kokedhima in the Ohrid festival in Macedonia. Now she wrote on her facebook fanpage about the outcome of the festival. She achieved winnning the prize "Best Performance" with the song "Versus" she competed with against 25 other particpants from the whole Balkan, one of them being Marko Kon, Serbian represantative 2009 in ESC, according to the Iliria News Agency.
Dorina Garuci: "Still don't know if I'm going to participate this year again"
Dorina Garuci
Dorina Garuci, participant in the last two "Festivali i kenges", the Albanian National Final for the Eurovision Songcontest, talks with us about her previous experiences on the FK stage and future plans.
She was participant in the Albanian "Idol" version and was together with Kejsi Tola (Esc 09) under in the final round. In 2 years she has already made a name in the Albanian music scene and it's our pleasure to promote this fantastic voice on our page.
Read the full interview translated from Albanian into English below.
Hi Dorina, last year it has been your second participation in the "Festivali i kenges". Could you imagine to represent Albania at the ESC one day?
For me it has been a pleasure to take part in this festival. Surely, the live singing has attracted me to take part.
Fans of the ESC who have listened to the song "Sekreti i dashurise" in the National final last year said that the song had similarities to the Song "Hero" by Charlotte Perelli from Sweden in ESC 2008. Have already heard "Hero" and what do you say about those rumours?
I have heard of these rumours and also listened to the song "Hero", but i can tell you that all in all there are 7 notes similar, which lets both songs seem "confusingly" similar. The harmony of the two songs though, is different from one each other. It means, that maybe the songs may seem similar to the untrained ear of the mass, but for the professional musician it is simply a coincidence, as the harmonies of the songs are completely different.
Will we see you on the FK stage this december again?
I still don't know if I'm going to participate this year again, because it is one intense year for me as I am in my last school year and i have to invest much into it. Nevertheless, we'll see the offers. :)
From RTSH till now we haven't received any information about the dates of the next Festivali.i.K. You as an artist, do you have any information yet about the next edition of the F.K.?
About the dates I only know that the closeline for songsubmissions is in mid-October, while the FK nights will take place probably in Mid-December.
What are other future plans of you? Want to greet your fans of Albavision.tk?
Most recently we have produced a clip to the song "Me ty prane zemres". To all my fans, I hope you'll like it :)
Thank you very much for the interview !
Dorina Garuci - Sekreti i dashurise - Festivali i kenges 2009
Besa Kokedhima, former participant in the Albanian National Final (08 & 09 ) is going to take part in the Ohrid Festival in Macedonia today (28th of August 2010) for Albania with the song "Versus" and is going to compete against 13 other contestants from all over Balkan.
More about the outcome as soon as available.
You can listen to the Albanian Version of "Versus" here below. There is also an English version of Versus (Link)
